Back in 2010 I sported some sweet dreadlocks, the end result of letting my afro go unchecked. Like with many pop culture fashion and style nuances I never looked into the drawbacks of having said dreads. Much like when you discover the joy of having your earlobes stretched to ridiculous lengths is not only overrated but makes you look stupid, dreads are a lot of maintenance too. From how heavy they get when they’re washed as they tend to soak up and retain water- to how to wear them; up, down, or poking you in the eye! They were fun while they lasted though.
